Apex Legends new update is aimed to fix various audio issues which are heavily present in the game rather than any new content drop.
Jay Fresh, the Respawn Entertainment’s Community Manager took on Reddit to announce the new patch that mainly focuses on audio fixes as mentioned above and with some overall improvements to how the game performs. There have been many ongoing issues regarding the audio such as the sounds dropping out and missing for extended periods of time. This could be such a pain. After all, you would want to hear what’s going on in your surroundings to detect any potential signs of an enemy squad.
Now that the developers of Apex Legends have made some improvements both in their code and content, these measures will surely fix the troubles players are having. The key changes to the audio are listed below.
- Improved the audio engine to be 30% more CPU efficient
- Increased the volume of close proximity enemy footsteps.
- Lowered volume of the game from character select screen to end of the drop.
- Increased the priority of enemy footsteps to make sure the sounds play even in heavy gunfight situations.
- Win screen music volume has been increased.
- More detailed audio is now added to the Training.
Also, there have been some mentions regarding hit registration bugs. Although it isn’t mainly focused on this patch, there are some ”behind-the-scenes tracking of bullet damage logic”. Which means is that there will still be problems on hit registration but it will help the developer team to have a better understanding of why it occurs. Jay Fresh kept on mentioning hit registrations bugs by saying “One potential cause of hit registration bugs can be simple internet connection problems. In order to determine how much of a factor this is in reality, we’ve refined the functionality behind our network problem indicator icons in the upper right of the screen.”
Overall, this update brings in some useful fixes before the Season 2 launch which will be revealed on June 8 during E3 2019.
